“Shadow”
Limited Edition Giclee print in 2 sizes.
This pastel is a favorite and looks especially nice framed in a a white box frame. Its feel is “intimate” and it is featured in the collection of a popular Australian TV personality, amongst others.

“Shift #1″
Limited Edition Giclee print in 2 sizes.
Another firm favourite, and one which provides quite a dramatic effect, especially in the larger size. Again, this looks fabulous in a white box frame. The effect of a “shift” was achieved by cutting and repositioning the sections of a pastel painting I made of a handmade ceramic vessel, featuring beautiful pinks and grays. I was living in a tiny miner’s cottage in the Victorian countryside near Hanging Rock in Australia when I created this piece, and the colours were very similar to the pink and gray galahs that constantly flew overhead in huge, screeching flocks.

“Gleam”
Limited Edition Giclee print in 2 sizes.
The original for this piece was snapped up by my sponsor’s mother when I was the selected Australian artist for a year long artist residency in Malaysia. This time was a breakthrough year for me artistically, where I progressed from using a dark palette to a softer one, and fell in love with the velvety touch of pastels on paper. At the end of the year I held an exhibition in the Rimbun Dahan underground gallery, and decided to make prints of my favourite pastel pieces. “Green Bowl”
Limited Edition Giclee print in 2 sizes.
Another of my works from the Malaysian residency. There is a bit of a Rothko feel to this – not coincidentally! I am a confessed fan of Rothko’s soft, graduated paintings, and think of him with enormous fondness when I look at this work. This also looks great in a white box frame and is an especially soothing work in real life. Its presence on the wall can instantly calm a room. “Quietude No. 5″
Limited Edition Giclee print in 2 sizes.
Alas, I have not been able to secure a good photo of this to show you, and urge you to go to a larger view by clicking on the image. This really is quite special in real life. It is again a little bit of an homage to Rothko, and features a drawing of a wire sculpture I bought when I was staying with my best friend – a film director called Wendy Ord – in Canada. Fond memories! The smaller image to the right of the bird is a piece of Australian gum, with red and green leaves. This work was also created in my cottage near Hanging Rock, and reminds me of the pink and grey Galah feathers I constantly found on the ground, and the pink sunsets that were my joy to see, with my faithful dog beside me.
